Colvin Matheson is the founder and Managing Director of Matheson Financial Advisors and cofounder and Managing Member of AE Advisors, LLC. He has over 40 years of business, corporate finance, and consulting experience and has performed more than a thousand engagements, guiding clients through corporate valuations, strategic decisions, stock transactions, and M&A activities. 

Prior to reestablishing Matheson Financial Advisors in 2003, Colvin was the principal in charge of ZwiegWhite Consulting’s Financial Advisory Services Group. Additionally, he worked eight years in corporate and international banking with focuses in corporate lending, cash management solutions, capital markets, trusts, and investment advisory services.

Along with his years of expertise, Colvin has delivered seminars at ACEC, AIA, NSPE, and ZweigWhite Hot Firms Pathway to Principal and appeared in publications in Engineering Times, The Zweig Letter, and Engineering, Inc.

Colvin received an MBA in Finance and International Business from George Washington University and a BA from Tulane University. He holds the Series 63, Series 79, and is a registered representative for M&A securities transactions offered through McLean Securities. Colvin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA).
